Purlieu winemaker, Julien Fayard was born in Provence but earned his stripes in the hallowed cellars of Château Lafite Rothschild and Château Smith Haut Lafitte. After moving to the USA with his California native wife, Élan, he landed a job at Quintessa and then began working for cult super star winemaker Philippe Melka. Eventually becoming Director of Winemaking for Atelier Melka, Julien got to work with the very best vineyards in the valley and groomed his style to perfection. This is crazy good wine for under $50!!

Deep garnet-purple colored, the 2016 Cabernet Sauvignon Le Pich features very pretty notes of crushed blueberries, blackberries and chocolate-covered cherries with hints of violets and cedar chest plus a waft of bay leaves. Medium to full-bodied, packed with vibrant black fruits and plushly textured, this buxom beauty is ready for biz, finishing satisfyingly long and spicy.
